Life in the Church

I'm gonna do a little bit of an update on my trip and then we're gonna get into the word so for the portion. Of the word if you have your Bibles turn to second Corinthians chapter 10 that is where we are as we go through the.

• Book of second Corinthians in a series that we're calling break through looking at this amazing letter that Paul wrote to this church in.
• Corinth about how to break through and all of these things that they were struggling with and difficulties in the church and we're.
• Gonna look at one today that I find to be so helpful from my own life and for our church but before we do.
• That I want to share a couple photos with you of where I was and for those of you who don't know I just.

Got back from India where we spent 10 days with a team from our church and a couple other people that we met over. There in India so if I could share the first photo with you this is a photo of myself and pastor guna how many.

Faith and Obedience

Bob was actually in Bangalore India during that very moment doing the same thing he was praying and asking God how he could just. Lead our church into a mission field in India so they missed each other the indian pastor was in idaho and our pastor was.

• In India and when Bob came back they began to pray together and that began a work in India that started with one slum.
• Church and it grew to over ten orphanages and Bible colleges in India and now specifically working with those infected by HIV and AIDS.
• And so I share that with you so that you know that this work that connects us to India it's one of the biggest.
• Mission fields as far as our financial support goes as a church the Bible says what God begins in the spirit that he is.

Faithful to complete and he no doubt began this connection that our church has to India in his spirit and he's been faithful year. By year by year to continue it so it was amazing to be with goona to pray with him to hear what God is.

Faith and Obedience

With the desire to see as you can guess what would happen when you give a male and a female they would be fruitful. And multiply and so there were goats that were sent by people in our church there were other churches that have been sending money.

• To buy goats and there were a lot of little baby goats which I think is a picture of God's faithfulness to reproduce as.
• We are faithful to persevere and continue then the next picture that you'll see is some time that we got to spend at a.
• Leper colony in India when we go to India you get this front-row seat as the heart of Jesus in so many ways what.
• Makes following Jesus so beautiful is that he always had his eyes and still does to this day on the least of these so.

We got to go to one of the leper colonies that the churches in India rally around to support and we gave them a. Meal we got to share a meal with them preach the gospel and at this particular leper colony some of the money that we've.

Sin and Salvation

Third son Henry he's got that nice Indian mustache full head of hair so he's like the he's a picture of how God is. Raising up a new generation to continue the work in India and I love Henry's story because much of the work that we do.

• In India to help support what God is really doing is in the south so Bangalore is really the home base of the work.
• That we support as a church the home based church in India is in Bangalore and when you just look at the map of.
• India a country of over a billion people there's a small percentage of believers that mostly live in the south and Henry a couple.
• Years ago had it on his heart to go where the gospel really wasn't being preached he moved his family from the south to.

The north which is like moving to a different country and he went into a town called Varanasi and for those of you who. Are familiar with Varanasi in India you know that it's the heart of the Hindu religion Hindu is the national religion of India and.

Faith and Obedience

We got to see the fruit of his faith because he now has as he's overseen a small little school of disciples that are. Being raised up to be missionaries in the north they many of them have come from the homes that have been started in Varanasi.

• That are for men or for boys and girls we got to visit a brand new building that was built that he can now.
• Live in so that he has some space for his family to live how many of you ran 52 for over the years this.
• Is one of the ways that we support India is by another group that was started from our church that now has their own.
• Charity group to raise money to support all that God is doing in India many of you have run it's for half marathons in.

The fall equaling fifty 2.4 miles of running and in doing that you raise support you ask people to sponsor you and all of. That money gets sent to India and I got to go see the incredible fruit that organization is able to bless the people of.

Life in the Church

Were already a part of so for the first time ever Brent went from Rome and met me in India so that we could. Partner as kind of an active unifying all that God is doing from India to Europe to Boise and we were all there together.

• So it was a really beautiful time for our church and for these girls many of them came out to me and said you.
• Know we watch when we can and we try to keep in touch with what's happening in Boise so even now if any of.
• Them are watching to say hello to you in India they really feel connected to us as a church and it's my desire to.
• Come back with good news of what God is doing so that we stay connected to them as an extension of the gospel that.

Is being preached here in Boise and making waves in some of the most influential parts of the world and I share all of. This one so that you would know who we are as a church and part of who we are as who what we've already.

Grace and Justification

Because so much of that message that was preached was a way for us to be encouraged that while those messages were being preached. The pastor of the church was going as an extension of our giving to see all that God is doing through that weekly passing.

• Of the basket we collect and we have more than we need for this building so we're able to bless people beyond ourselves which.
• To me is the fruit of that message really lived out by you guys so thank you for that and then finally one of.
• The ways that we got to experience that as a church right around Christmas time every year India as a way to bless their.
• Kids because when you live in an orphanage you don't really get to experience the real intimate family time like Thanksgiving Christmas that we.

Have in our culture of you know we get to huddle around it's family time we give gifts so they make an emphasis on. Giving right around Christmastime this particular year there was just one of those it was one of those years where things get tight we.

Conclusion

We return to the opening teaching: discipleship is not just information, it is transformation through faith and obedience to Jesus. If we receive His Word and walk it out, He will shape us into people who endure and bear fruit.
