Introduction

Let me begin with a discipleship question: how will you follow Jesus in prayer and dependence on God this week?

Main Points

In this lesson shaped by Calvary Boise's teaching on PEOPLE OVER RELIGION: The Gospel That We Preach, Christ invites us to receive truth with humility, practice repentance, and walk in faithful obedience.

Faith and Obedience

Hello everyone at home wherever you're wherever you're joining us from the live stream I just want to say we love you and we. Are a church body no matter how we gather so I'm just praising God and thanking God that we can worship Him still that.

  • We can open his word and look into his word for the hope of what we have in the Fellowship of the body of.
  • Believers that we are so you are with us this morning and we are in God's hands and I just as we went through.
  • All of this in this past week and as things unfold and continue to get updated I just want to encourage all of us.
  • As a church family in the church globally that God is not moved off the throne God is on the throne and one of.

The reasons I'm so excited about this morning is because in all of the things that we could possibly do to try to calm. Our nerves or try to prepare ourselves this is the thing that we are supposed to do worshiping the Lord together trusting in His.

Hope in Suffering

So I just want to continue in the word in Galatians chapter 2 this is a message that I want to call the gospel. That we preach the reason I want to look at the gospel that we preach is because the book of Galatians in many ways.

  • Is written to a region of churches that really needed to defend the gospel the good news of Jesus Christ and this is important.
  • For us to do may be now more than ever before we get into our scripture reading I just want to remind you of.
  • What something else in the word it says in first Peter chapter 3 verse 15 that we sanctify the Lord God in our hearts.
  • Always be ready to give a defense to everyone asks for the reason of the hope that is in us when we leave this.

Place day by day week by week and we go into the world that is in many ways a state of panic I believe. This verse will be our call to arms to give a defense not necessarily only of our theology of our doctrine but of our.

Sin and Salvation

You and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from. This present evil age according to the will of our God and Father to whom be the glory for ever and ever amen Church.

  • Whoever's listening whether you have stepped foot in a church or not now more than ever we must understand how to be made right.
  • With God how are we supposed to be people that find hope apart from our present evil age and the evil age has risen.
  • Up we have seen the evil surround us in the form of a fallen world that is diseased by a literal virus and many.
  • People right now are asking the question what must I do to be saved if you are a believer in God it is more.

Important now than ever that you know the gospel that you believe in that you know the answer to the problem of the world. Goes way beyond something that you will find in the form of medicine or the form of supplies for a pantry but we have.

Faith and Obedience

Faithful so whatever cycle of news were listening to and as the news comes in and more and more people are realizing that there. Are states of emergency everywhere there is a state of emergency on your soul and someone texted me and said what is the sinner's.

  • Prayer and I want to remind you how God works through all of time God always allows things to play out according to what.
  • We think we want what we think we know about our lives he gives us over to our pursuits and he gives us over.
  • To the way that we think things should be run he gives us over to our politics and gives us over to our 401ks.
  • And he gives us over to all of these things in our own doing that we put our hope in and eventually those things.

Will prove to not be our Savior and when that happens it says that the kindness of God will lead us back to himself. His love and His mercy and His goodness revealed through his people will lead many people back to God and if you have been.

Sin and Salvation

Some things that you will do to know that you're really saved in this instance it was the ritual of circumcision to become a. Cultural or a ritualistic Jew but Paul says very importantly I took this Greek person up there with me he was not a cultural.

  • Jew he was not a Hebrew of Hebrews I took them and they said he didn't have to change anything and then he goes.
  • On to say that as he met with these people who were ritualistic Jews may really counseled on what saves people Paul says verse.
  • 10 they added nothing to my message they added nothing to my message and here's what we have to remember there is nothing to.
  • Add to our message as we go into the world to minister to people there is nothing we need to add on top of.

What people must do to be saved people need to know that there is a God who loves them that's provided the way of. Salvation right here and right now for all who believe that there is more to life than what we can actually do to protect.

Grace and Justification

Your pantries will run dry and part of Paul's messages he's reasoning with these people who want to add things is that you cannot. Be justified by the works of the law in fact the toilet paper is a very good picture of what we do in our.

  • Spiritual desire to add something because we all want to say yes it's faith in Jesus but then I'll really know I'm saved once.
  • I start going to church regularly memorize the Bible witness to people do missions add to the paradigm of my life and in the.
  • Portfolio of my spirituality and what Paul is saying and what they agreed upon it's not that you can't be cultural and proud of.
  • The things that God has given you in your culture but it is Jesus alone and look what Isaiah says warning people who have.

The desire to fill up their spiritual pantries Isaiah chapter 64 verse 6 says this we are all like an unclean thing and all. Of our righteousness are like filthy rags we fade as a leaf and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away in the.

Grace and Justification

More than ever if you're a believer know that God has you here for such a time as this and I pray that we. Will be people who realize that this is this is an important distinction I'm about to make there's only one thing that you can.

  • Do to become a believer and that know that your name is written on an eternity book of life and that is to believe.
  • That Jesus paid it all that his righteousness is the power to save and make you clean before God and the second thing is.
  • This there's only one thing you do to be a believer but there's many things that you do once you're a believer and that's.
  • Why it's so important that the in reasoning what it means to be saved they say it is Christ in Christ alone but in.

Verse 10 they say but they desired only that we should remember the poor the very thing which also I was eager to do. So this means that we are not bunker believers we are not people who say okay we've got what we need and our cleanliness.

Conclusion

We return to the opening teaching: discipleship is not just information, it is transformation through faith and obedience to Jesus. If we receive His Word and walk it out, He will shape us into people who endure and bear fruit.

Lord Jesus, help me hear Your Word, obey it with faith, and grow as Your disciple. Amen.
