Introduction

Let me begin with a discipleship question: how will you follow Jesus in prayer and dependence on God this week?

Main Points

In this lesson shaped by Calvary Boise's teaching on KIDS TIME: Amazed - October 4, 2020, Christ invites us to receive truth with humility, practice repentance, and walk in faithful obedience.

Faith and Obedience

Oh hey everybody don't mind me I was just feeling a little bit hungry so I decided to order out for some delivery oh. That was fast look here it comes now what do I got today peanut butter and jelly all right welcome to our new series.

  • Amazed where we're gonna look at the life of the prophet elijah who was able to witness some truly amazing miracles of god before.
  • Our lesson though let's pray god thank you that you care so much about us that we can trust you to give us what.
  • We need to provide for us in every way we love you we pray in jesus name amen thanks for praying now open up.
  • Those bibles to the book of first kings what do you think first kings new testament or old testament old testament that's right and.

Today in first kings chapter 17 we're going to see three miracles in the life of elijah that really proved that god cared for. Elijah and was going to take care of him no matter where he went and hopefully it'll help us remember that god cares about.

Faith and Obedience

Sometime later the woman's son became sick he grew worse and worse and finally he died remember this is the same woman and the. Same son who witnessed god's miracle that we just talked about moments ago so will she trust in god what will happen elijah stretched.

  • Himself out over the child three times and cried out to the lord o lord my god please let this child's life return to.
  • Him the lord heard elijah's prayer and the life of the child returned and he revived then elijah brought him down from the upper.
  • Room and gave him to his mother look he said your son is alive those who put their trust in god like elijah did.
  • Like this widow did people who put their trust in god get to see god do the most amazing incredible things and the same.

Thing is true for us the more we're willing to trust in god put our faith in him the more we see god provide. For us sometimes in miraculous ways but we should never forget just like we see in the story here god clearly cares about people.

Conclusion

We return to the opening teaching: discipleship is not just information, it is transformation through faith and obedience to Jesus. If we receive His Word and walk it out, He will shape us into people who endure and bear fruit.

Lord Jesus, help me hear Your Word, obey it with faith, and grow as Your disciple. Amen.
