Introduction

In tonight's first Wednesday night service, I aim to share a message that has been on my heart since November. This message will be the first part of a prophecy update that will extend into next week. While tonight we will focus on world events as they align with scripture, next week will delve deeper into these prophetic timelines. A primary focus for our discussion in Matthew 24 will be the topic of deception, which Jesus emphasizes as the first warning concerning the end times. In an age rife with misleading information, I have witnessed firsthand how pervasive this deception has become, particularly through advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Main Points

Deception Is No Longer A Subtle

Deception is no longer a subtle threat; it has become a significant challenge we face today. According to Matthew 24, as we approach the end times, the prevalence of deception will escalate, leading to confusion and even the falling away of believers from their faith.

  • I have observed previously healthy Christians, who once diligently studied scripture, succumbing to various misleading narratives.
  • This experience has highlighted a critical need for us as believers to remain vigilant and steep ourselves in God’s truth.
  • AI serves as a poignant example of contemporary deception.
  • With the capabilities to create hyper-realistic videos and narratives that can easily mislead, the stakes are higher than ever.

When Technology Creates Content Indistinguishable From

When technology creates content indistinguishable from reality, our ability to discern truth becomes compromised. As such, we must be alert, recognizing that these tools can be used to further the enemy's agenda.

  • In this environment of distraction and deception, certain doctrines are particularly under threat within the church.
  • Namely, the doctrine of hell, the pre-tribulation rapture, and the current state of Israel are facing significant scrutiny and misunderstanding.
  • Each of these doctrines forms a substantial part of our faith, yet there is growing discontent that seeks to reinterpret or entirely dismiss their validity.
  • The pre-tribulation rapture, for example, is a crucial teaching that assures believers of being taken up to be with Christ before the tribulation occurs.

This Doctrine Carries Both Urgency And

This doctrine carries both urgency and hope; it encourages us to live our lives in a way that honors the imminent return of our Savior. Yet, we witness even those who once stood firm in this belief now entertaining false teachings that distort scriptural truth. To combat the rising tide of deception, we must recalibrate our focus on scripture. Deception often stems from a lack of knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. As it is stated in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." Spending intentional time in the Scriptures not only fortifies our faith but also equips us to discern truth from lies. This is essential for our spiritual health and for those we are called to minister to.

It S Not Merely About Gathering

It's not merely about gathering information; it's about nurturing a relationship with God through His Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth (John 16:13). As we engage with scripture, we gain clarity on God’s promises amidst the chaotic world around us. In light of the challenging times we face, the urgency of our calling cannot be understated. We are tasked with building an "ark", a church that actively shares the Gospel, inviting as many as possible to be part of God’s kingdom. This mission is crucial not only for our own readiness but also as a means of extending grace to those around us who are in desperate need of hope and truth. We must recognize the parallels between our days and the days of Noah.

While We Live In Times Of

While we live in times of increased wickedness, it is imperative that we remain steadfast and committed to our mission to share the Gospel and prepare ourselves and others for Christ's return. Our perspective should not yield to fear but be rooted in faith.

Conclusion

In summary, as we face increasing deception in our world, we must hold fast to the truths found in scripture. The warning Jesus gave us in Matthew 24 remains clearer than ever: we must take heed to not be deceived. Understanding the urgency of our position in God's prophetic timeline compels us to engage actively in our faith and community. As we draw near to God, may He fortify our hearts and minds, strengthening us to hold fast to His truth and share His love with those around us. Together, let's continue to build that ark as we await the mighty return of our Lord.
